All Sun/UV Cured PRESTO!™ Products Meet or Exceed The Following Performance Specifications, Standards and Testing Methods
Since 1988, PRESTO!™ has undergone extensive testing. Tests were performed by our labs during product development, by our customers and by independent labs. PRESTO!™ made ground breaking performance claims that needed to be verified. Since ’88, PRESTO!™ was subject to at least one of the following tests and methods accumulated over the years.
For the first time, we have collected the tests and methods that PRESTO!™ was subject to. The following summates the performance specifications, standards and standard that our products surpass.
In-house testing appears in BLUE below.
General Motors SAE Standards & Testing
GM4901M-D-2005 Surpasses the following tests to meet the GM4901M Specification:
• Surpasses Tukon Hardness – point of hardness of paint film after cure;
+Tabor Abraser Tests 300-700% harder than epoxy and 2K clear;
• Surpasses Humidity Adhesion – durability of paint films exposed to rain and damp weather conditions;
+4 weeks immersion in 50% wt. NaOH Solution has no effect on PRESTO!™ film properties;
+Used as marine gelcoat/fiberglass coating above and below water line. Stops oxidation of polyester resin (gelcoat);
+Surpasses Q-Fog Corrosion testing;
• Surpasses Chip Resistance – resistance of paint films to stone chipping and or small mars caused by road dirt/gravel;
+Surpasses Gravelometer testing;
• Surpasses Cycle Test – durability of paint films going from cold-to-hot-to-cold or hot-to-cold-to-hot conditions;
+Shock Tested: Sample cooled to -70C for 4 hours then dropped immediately and directly into boiling water and allowed to dwell 30 min. The sample is then returned to the freezer for 4 hour. This cycle is repeated 5 times.
• Surpasses Gas Resistance – resistance of paint to staining or softening when exposed to gasoline;
+Surpasses Gasoline;
+Impervious to Aircraft Stripper, Acetone or any other solvent system;
• Surpasses Chemical Resistance – resistance to environmental chemicals/ products;
+Substituted 10% solutions of Nitric, Sulfuric and Hydrochloric Acids with 100% full strength acids no effect on film properties (not even gloss) after 5 minute dwell;
• Surpasses Weather Resistance – overall long-term durability of the paint system as related to cracking, crazing, fading, hazing, fogging or any other customer dissatisfaction issues;
+Surpasses QUV Accelerated Weathering Testing;
+Surpasses Xenon Arc Testing;
+Surpasses “Birdometer” exposure;
• Surpasses ALL VOC Rules and Regulations with an absolute VOC content of 0.00000000% VOC;
• Contains NO free isocyanates or any other toxic components;
