PRESTO!™ Gelcoat Rejuvenator™

This is the most advanced, highest performing and environmentally friendly product available anywhere. Each product is key-formulated for the surface chemistry the product is intended to be used on. While our products are surprisingly easy to use, they behave UNLIKE ANY PRODUCT YOU MAY HAVE USED BEFORE. This product contain no solvents, no water, no alcohol and no petroleum based ingredients. •WHAT RESULTS can I expect? Dampen the surface with water. The way the surface looks like when it’s wet is what this product will make the surface look like permanently. If the damage is limited to the clearcoat the scratch or scuff will vanish when it gets wet. The same applies to color damage. If the pigment is too faded or worn away it will not rejuvenate when it gets wet. If the color is damaged the color must be repaired or replaced before you use this product.

•This product require the ultraviolet (UV) light in sunlight to cure. This product use the same chemistry as “UV cured” dental fillings. They cure through a chemical reaction that hardens them until they are dry to the touch. They do not “dry” because they contain nothing that evaporates; no solvent, no water & no alcohol. They are sold ready to use.

•How fast does it cure? Cure as fast as 1 hour is possible in full sunlight at 80oF; cure rate slows with overcast skies and cooler temperatures. If you can, apply this product before 11 a.m. to take full advantage of peak UV hours 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

•This product react to UV light quickly – NEVER pour this product directly onto the intended surface because they may harden before you expect it. If this happens you will need to treat the results exactly like a clearcoat flaw - wet sand and polish. If you can’t apply the product in the shade, work in the shadow of your body OR apply it in the morning when UV levels are still low. Don’t apply this product the night before because it will be absorbed into the surface completely by morning.

•It should take 10-15 seconds to do 1 Sq. Ft. If it takes longer you’re doing something wrong.

•Until cured, this product flow like an oil. After you apply this product, give it time to self level. Apply this product at temperatures above 55oF because it takes too long to self level at cooler temperatures.

•Keep sunlight out of the bottle! Either poke a hole in the foil seal to keep sunlight out, or cover the top with your thumb as you apply the product with the free hand.

•Use plain paper towels. Use cheap, disposable plain paper towels as applicators. Lightly apply this product by hand. DO NOT rub because paper towels can scratch the surface if too much pressure is applied. As the product starts to harden the towel, wrap a new towel around the old paper towel. Dispose of used paper towels as non-hazardous solid waste as needed.

•For best results on oxidized Surfaces. Applying this product directly to oxidized surfaces will rejuvenate faded colors. This product is colorless and does not replace or repair missing or damaged color. Oxidation absorbs this product like a sponge and will decrease coverage. Where iron oxide is black or brown in color, plastic oxide, such as oxidized gelcoat is white. For best coverage and highest gloss results, oxidation should be compounded off by using a wax-free compound. The higher the surface gloss is before application, the higher the final gloss will be.

How to avoid the most commonly made application mistake:
Applying too much or too little product.

•How to tell if too much product was applied and how to correct it. After application, lightly brush your fingers over the surface. If your fingers look, wet then there’s too much product on the surface. Simply spread out the product or wipe off the excess. Lightly wipe away any streaks caused by your fingers. If the surface is still wet or tacky after 2 days in sunlight, then too much product was applied and there’s an easy fix for this. Use soap & water or any cleaner to wash away the surface film (these product solidify from bottom to top). Removing the tacky surface film will leave a dull surface. To get a high gloss, either apply a thin layer of the product and allow it to cure or polish the surface.

•How to tell if too little product was used and how to correct it. Applying Too little product causes dry looking Streaks or splotchy areas (see “Starved Application” image). This product is self levelling but there needs to be enough product on the surface to self level. To get rid of dry streaks or splotches simply apply more product until the surface looks nice and uniform.
